I’m Whitney Maley, founder of Maley Designs. My husband Neil and I created this boutique to deliver unique personalized designs to help you tell your story. We do this every day with high quality items, incredible customer service, and fast delivery. These are the driving forces of our company. 

Our Story

I never dreamed my little handmade business would have grown into what it is today. Maley Designs is a sustainable and growing company because of my supportive husband who believed in me through my many attempts at different businesses.

I have always been an entrepreneur. From trying to start up a healthy snack company that didn’t work out to dabbling in direct sales selling jewelry. While selling jewelry was successful, I didn’t love the products. I learned through that experience that I had to give the best products to my customers. 

Maley Designs came to life when we were stationed in South Korea with the Army and I taught myself how to sew. I began making custom blankets, bibs, and binkie clips. When the Army moved us to Colorado, Neil graciously bought me an embroidery machine to personalize my creations.

Because of Neil’s unfaltering support, I found what I loved doing and what I was good at. 

Soon after getting pregnant with our first child, I knew I couldn’t keep hand making each item. We decided to personalize already made quality blanks. With only $500 to start this new adventure, we were blessed to find someone selling their equipment for an amazing price online. This changed everything. We started with vinyl and then experimented with various blanks until we found the quality we were looking for. 

I worked every day between the kiddo’s naps and stayed up late every night making the designs, cutting the vinyl, and packaging orders. My office started in the living room, so Neil and I were still spending time together at night as he played video games and I worked on orders. The business quickly grew to the point I could no longer manage it alone. Neil and I had a tough decision to make. Between the business growing and having to deal with continued military deployments and relocations, we decided to take a huge leap of faith. 

We left the Army life to run Maley Designs full time, together as a family. Neil had lots of Army management experience and a background in Finance. I needed his expertise to keep the company running smoothly. We are so grateful we get to do this every day. We love being home with our children and working together as a team. We love designing one-of-a-kind clothing for your whole family for birthdays, holidays and big events. We love helping expectant moms announce their big news and creating the perfect newborn “coming home from the hospital” outfit.
